Michael Swope,Lewisville Fire Department Mourns A Dedicated Firefighter
Last night, the Lewisville Fire Department family lost a dedicated servant, a mentor, and a friend. Firefighter/Paramedic Michael Swope passed away following an off-duty motor vehicle accident.
Michael served the City of Lewisville with distinction since January 7th, 2019. Beyond his official roles as a skilled Paramedic and a trusted Field Training Officer (FTO), he was a pillar of quiet professionalism. His calm demeanor and deep competence made him a cornerstone of his shift, while his innate kindness made him a friend to all. He was the colleague you wanted by your side in any situation.

Yet his most defining roles were those he cherished off-duty. Michael was a devoted follower of Christ, a loving and caring husband, and a proud father to three beautiful children. His faith and family were the center of his world.
Our hearts are shattered, and our thoughts and prayers are entirely with his family and loved ones as they navigate this unimaginable loss. We ask our community to join us in holding them in your hearts and honoring Michael’s legacy of service, faith, and love.
