Two Men Dead After Shooting in Pittsburgh’s Carrick Neighborhood, Police Say

Pittsburgh police are investigating a fatal double shooting that occurred Tuesday evening in the Carrick neighborhood, leaving two young men dead.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident began around 5:15 p.m. when a ShotSpotter alert detected 12 rounds fired in the 1200 block of Linnview Avenue. Responding officers from Zone 3 arrived to find two adult male victims shot on a sidewalk, lying approximately ten feet apart. Both men, identified as 23 and 27 years old, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Services transported both victims to a local hospital in grave condition. They were pronounced deceased upon arrival.

Authorities reported that the shooter fled the scene on foot down the nearby Nobles Lane. No description of the suspect has been released, and the motive remains under investigation. The Pittsburgh Police Homicide Unit has taken the lead in what is described as an active and ongoing investigation.

At the scene, the Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence and recovered two firearms. Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect’s flight to contact the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
